About Costume Chronicles
Our mission
Costume Chronicles is an independent, fan-run archive devoted to the aesthetics of Chinese period (costume) television. We help viewers move from "which drama should I watch?" to "who made it, who is in it, and how do the stories connect?" by organizing period dramas into two browsable threads: a Drama archive and a Cast archive.
What we create
The value of the Site is original editorial structure built on top of publicly known facts:
- Curated drama entries with synopses, era/genre classification, and reception;
- Character dossiers and cross-drama relationship maps connecting actors, roles, factions, and storylines;
- A searchable library across the broader catalog with stable, indexable URLs.
Drama titles, cast lists, broadcast years, and plot facts are matters of public record. Our contribution is the selection, structuring, original synopses, and the relationship analysis — not the underlying facts themselves.
Content & attribution
Costume Chronicles is not affiliated with any streaming platform or studio. Drama names, character names, and talent names are trademarks or property of their respective rights holders; we use them only for identification and commentary within an archival, non-commercial editorial context. Illustrative artwork on the Site is either originally generated or promotional material used for identification. Where we draw on public information sourced from platforms such as 爱奇艺, 芒果TV, 腾讯视频, and 优酷, we re-express it as our own curation rather than republishing their pages.
